Close the loop

Confirm completion. Process the invoice. Notify all parties.

The job isn’t done when the tradie leaves. It’s done when everyone involved knows it’s resolved — and no one’s left wondering, chasing, or confused. That final step? It’s called closing the loop. And it’s what separates good coordination from great.

At Tapi, we treat closing the loop as a non-negotiable. Once the work is completed, you’re not finished until:

  • The tenant knows the issue has been fixed.
  • The owner has been informed (especially if they paid for it).
  • The invoice is received, processed, and linked to the job.
  • Notes, photos, and details are recorded for future reference.

That last mile of communication — “Just letting you know the job is done and here’s the outcome” — is where trust is reinforced. It tells tenants you cared about the result, not just the process. It shows owners that their investment is being managed professionally. It signals to the tradie that they’re part of a clean, well-run system.

Closing the loop also protects your future self. A clear job record means fewer questions later, faster auditing, and better decision-making next time a similar issue comes up.

So don’t just assume everyone’s happy. Finish strong. Say it’s done. Show the result. And log the win.
